1. Overview and operator
Personal Backup is a private, non-commercial backup workflow used only by the operator of haderia.ch with Google accounts the operator owns or is authorized to use. It runs on the operator's local computer, using restic and rclone. It is not available to other users, and no public web application, account-registration system, or hosted backup server is provided.
2. Google user data accessed
The workflow uses Google OAuth 2.0 and the Google Drive API with thehttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope. Within the scope of application-created backup files and folders, it can access file identifiers, names, sizes, timestamps, and related Drive metadata, and it can upload, list, download, update, and delete those files.
The workflow does not request the general-purpose Google Drive scope and does not intentionally access unrelated, pre-existing Drive files. It does not request Gmail, Google Contacts, or other Google account data.
3. How data is used
Google Drive access is used solely to:
- store encrypted restic backup repository objects in the operator's Drive;
- check the presence and integrity of the repository and retrieve backups for restoration;
- maintain or remove application-created repository objects under the operator's control.
Google user data is not used for advertisements, profiling, marketing, sale of information, or training artificial intelligence models.
4. Where data is stored
restic encrypts backed-up file contents on the operator's local computer before transfer. rclone uploads the encrypted restic repository objects to Google Drive in the operator's account. Google, as the selected cloud-storage provider, stores those encrypted objects and can observe associated storage metadata (such as object sizes and modification times).
OAuth credentials and tokens used by rclone are stored locally in rclone's configuration on the operator's computer, not on this website. The repository encryption password is managed separately from the Google OAuth credentials. Neither credentials nor backup contents are collected through haderia.ch.
This page is a static informational website. Its hosting provider may process ordinary web request information (such as IP addresses and request logs) when visitors access it; that is separate from the local backup workflow.
5. Data sharing
The workflow sends encrypted repository objects to Google Drive as instructed by the operator. It does not transmit backup content or OAuth tokens to the website operator through this site, to advertisers, to data brokers, or to an additional application server. No Google user data is sold or shared for unrelated purposes.
6. Retention and deletion
Backup files remain in the operator's Google Drive until the operator removes them, runs repository retention and cleanup commands, or Google applies its own retention rules. There is no automatic account deletion service associated with this website.
The operator can delete the remote backup repository from Google Drive and remove the local rclone credentials. Revoking OAuth access in Google Account settings stops future authorized access through that token, but does not automatically delete backup files already stored in Google Drive.
7. Security practices and limitations
Backups are encrypted before upload using restic. The operator controls the repository password and Google account security settings. Local OAuth tokens are protected using the device's access controls. As with any local software, a compromised computer or compromised Google account can still affect access to or availability of backups.
8. Google policies and access revocation
Use of data received from Google APIs is governed by theGoogle API Services User Data Policy. Google's own handling of information is described in theGoogle Privacy Policy. The operator can revoke the app's access through theGoogle Account connections settings.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the scope, data handling, or functionality of the backup workflow changes. The date at the top identifies the latest published revision.
